Int’l Quran Contest Can Play A Role in Enhancing Muslim Unity: Iranian Qari

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A renowned Iranian qari said the international Quran competition that the country organizes annually can play a role in boosting Muslim unity.

Seyed Hamid Heravi told ISNA that qaris and Quran memorizers from different countries take part in the international Quranic event for a friendly competition.

He added that when they go back to their own country, they will help to promote friendship and unity in the Islamic Ummah.

He also said that in its 38th edition, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international Quran competition has reached excellence in various aspects.     

The final stage of Iran’s 38th international Quran competition kicked off in Tehran on Monday and will wrap up in a ceremony on Saturday evening.

Winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony, which is scheduled to be attended by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi.

A total of 62 qaris and memorizers from 29 countries have competed in this stage of the event, which is being held virtually.
